◆ Our Story
Growing up left-handed is not always easy.
For our founder, it meant constant correction. Parents trying to switch his writing hand. Beatings meant to "fix" what was never broken. A classroom full of right-handed desks, right-handed scissors, and teachers who saw his natural instinct as a problem to be solved.
At some point, his family accepted who he was. They stopped trying to change him. But the world — the tools, the systems, the institutions — largely never did.
That experience never left him. The frustration of using scissors that cut wrong. Notebooks with spirals that dig into your wrist. Desks angled the wrong way. A world of small, daily inconveniences that add up to one loud, clear message — you were not considered when this was made.
It was that frustration, that lived reality, that gave birth to the Lefthanded Foundation.
◆ Who We Are
The Lefthanded Foundation is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy, education, and community building for left-handed individuals worldwide.
We are an organization that takes seriously the challenges faced by 700 million people living in a world designed entirely for the other ninety percent. We provide resources for left-handed individuals navigating daily life, guides for parents raising left-handed children, toolkits for educators building inclusive classrooms, and a global community where left-handers can find belonging, support, and celebration.
We believe left-handedness is not a defect to be corrected. It is a difference to be celebrated.
To advocate, educate, and build community for left-handed individuals across the world — ensuring that every left-handed child grows up in an environment that supports rather than suppresses who they are.
A world where being left-handed is never a burden and where every child picks up a pencil with their left hand and nobody tries to put it in their right.

We create free guides, toolkits, and research materials for left-handed individuals, parents, and educators. From writing techniques to classroom accommodation strategies

We build spaces where left-handers connect, share stories, and find solidarity. Because knowing you are not alone changes everything.

We push for inclusive design in schools, workplaces, and public institutions. We campaign on International Left Handers Day every August 13 and work year-round to shift attitudes globally.

We curate and distribute left-handed tools, stationery, and school packs — ensuring left-handed children have access to equipment that actually works for them. Through our corporate sponsorship program, we send these packs to children in underserved communities worldwide.

We bring the global left-handed community together through virtual summits, workshops, school programs, and our flagship International Left Handers Day celebrations every year.
